May 24: The 75th Festival de Cannes kick-started on May 17 2022, in its full glory and glamour with world-famous actors and actresses walking the famous red carpet and announcing and promoting their films and the Hollywood Bollywood fraternity in attendance. This year India is “Country of Honour” at Marche du Cinema. An impressive Indian contingent led by Information and Broadcasting minister Anurag Thakur joined the festival, and India also celebrates 75 years of Independence this year. During the Cannes festival, a star-studded gala event at JW Marriott Cannes was organized to honour and announce global short films from all across the world. Manya Pathak launched and unveiled the poster of her new movie ‘Pratyantar’, in the presence of world media from Germany, France, Asia, and the Middle East at the Cannes Global Short Film Awards Gala. Manya Pathak is an Indian TV actress who rose to fame with Zee TV Dilli Darlings. Manya has done many music albums for T-series, Zee Music, Showbox TV, etc. She was last seen in Dvand on MX Player.
Pratyantar is directed by Akanksha Sinha. She is known for her web series ‘Chitthi’, starring some big names of Bollywood like Yashpal Sharma, Ravi Bhatia, Shafaq Naaz, and many more. She also directed ’Sadhosh’ a web film, starring veteran actor Ankur Nayyar. Her movie ‘Pratyantar’ is produced by Chinmay Parab and co-produced by Outworking Troop Production and Shree Maruti Moviez. Chinmay Parab is a producer from Mumbai, he recently produced a web film ‘Sadhosh’ on MX Player. He is also a Talent Head and is currently working for a show on Snapchat Originals. He has worked for Netflix, Matched@Netflix, a dating show, and has an experience with 30+ non-fiction shows/movies, across different channels like MX Player, Zee Tv, Zee Cafe, Zee Marathi, Zee Punjabi, Star plus, Zing Tv, &TV and many more. His movie ‘Pratyantar’ is in Hindi language and revolves around the concept of “Is your soul free?” It depicts life’s challenges after death, agony and pain that soul faces after death. Pratyantar has already won 2 official international selections in Global Film Festivals and is expected to release soon in India.
The web film, ‘Pratyantar’ is presented by Anjali Phougat. Anjali Phougat is an Indian designer based in Columbus, Ohio and the founder of the luxury brand, Designer Dream Collection. Her style is classic and timeless and focuses on the rich cultural tradition and Indian Heritage. The costume for this web film was styled by Sunil Shreshtha, a Mumbai based fashion stylist. He was also a fashion stylist for the web film, ‘Sadhosh’ produced by Chinmay Parab. Chinmay Parab is also coming up with a new web series “The Untold Bharat’, which will be based on the current scenario of socio-politics, and the current state of India.
