New Delh: Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has promoted Subramanian Sarma to the role of Deputy Managing Director & President, the company announced. Earlier, he was serving as Wholetime Director & President, Energy.
The company’s board has also extended his term, subject to approval at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM). If approved, he will continue in this position until February 3, 2028.
SN Subrahmanyan, Chairman & MD, praised Sarma’s contributions, highlighting his role in transforming L&T’s hydrocarbon and energy businesses by driving innovation, efficiency, and global growth.
Sarma, who holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from IIT-Mumbai, has over 40 years of experience, including three decades in the Middle East. He joined the L&T board in August 2015.
Under his leadership, L&T’s energy division has become a global leader in EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction). The company has delivered strong financial results and has been ranked among the top three EPC contractors in the Middle East’s oil & gas sector for the past four years.
