New Delhi: The 5th edition of ‘SIAL INDIA’, an international exhibition for food and beverages, collocated with Vinexpo India, an event on wine and spirits, is being hosted at Yashobhoomi, India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), Dwarka, New Delhi starting today till 9th December 2023. The two leading shows are confluent to amplify the synergy between wine, beverages, and food.
Mr Janusz Wojciechowsksi, Agriculture Commissioner of the European Union, inaugurated the event in the august presence of Smt. Anita Praveen, IAS Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries Government of India and Shri. Abhishek Dev, IAS Chairman, APEDA (Agricultural & Processed Food Products Development Authority) Ministry of Commerce & Industry Government of India, and Ambassadors from participating countries.
The event is powered by The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI). They have been giving immense support to the event since its inception. It is supported by the Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and the Forum of Indian Food Importers (FIFI). Comexposium, France and Inter Ads have jointly organized the SIAL India event.
SIAL India received an excellent response from the industry, with the participation of over 20 country ambassadors ( France, Italy, Greece, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Turkey), 300 national and international exhibitors, and various sponsors. It was a grand platform where global buyers and sellers got ample networking opportunities via a hosted buyer program opening day of the exhibition, which provided an excellent opportunity for displaying the latest products. New technology was launched with discussion around the needs of the industry.
The exhibition provided new products, the latest technology and product innovation from countries like Austria, the European Union, France, Greece, Italy, Iran, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Peru, Russia, South Korea, Tunisia, Turkiye, Thailand, USA and more.
SIAL India has developed three interesting event categories: SIAL Innovation, SIAL Conference and SIAL Tasting Square. The key takeaways were focused on global market development and discussions with industry experts. Live Cooking shows via renowned chefs were another unbeaten area. Chefs like Anahita Dhondy, Manjit Gill & Ritika Gill, Narender Singh Latwal, Pankaj Bhadouria, Manisha Bhasin, Nishant Choubey & Rakhi, Vaibhav Bhargava, Ashish Bhasin, Gokhan, Gautam Chaudhry, Parvinder Bali and more came up with their luscious Cuisines. This section had an enjoyable French Competition, too.
On the first day of the event, the chefs showcased a spectacular cooking masterclass. Chef Anahita Dhondy’s mouthwatering cuisine, Lehsuni Palak with Millet Kofta, Manjit Gill & Ritika Gill’s exquisite Apple Curry and chickpeas Khubani Curry and fermented Rice laced the event along with Chef Rakhee Vaswani’s USA Blueberries Book Launch. Also, Chef Narender Singh Latwal and Chef Pankaj Bhadouria exhibited kosher skills. The culinary skills, which perfectly set the tone for the three-day event, are worth mentioning. Overall, it was an exciting and beneficial day for the presenters.
Vinexpo India, on each day, hosts multiple Master Classes that highlight the wines and spirits from France, New Zealand, the European Union, Hungry and India. ALESSIO Secci-Director Fratelli addressed the opening day session; other masterclasses were taken by Subhash Arora and Agnetta International, Chinmaya Amrit Raja, Mariann Erdo, Ashwin Rodrigues and Charles Donnadieu, Priyanka Save, Dr Yoginee Budhkar, Hema Connoisseurs and more. The topic of discussion was ‘Challenges faced by Indian industry’ and ‘Not only Wine-France makes fine Whisky too’, to name a few.
