Mumbai: A high-level business delegation from the province of New Brunswick in Canada is on a four-day two-city tour of India, exploring new business opportunities, forging key partnerships and fostering enhanced trade relations between industry leaders of the two nations. The delegation is being facilitated by Opportunities New Brunswick (ONB), the province’s lead government agency for economic development which promotes business, trade and investments into New Brunswick and is being supported by the India-based Indo-Canadian Business Chamber (ICBC). The visit commenced on March 18, 2025.
“With India set to become one of the largest economies in the world, it offers a great growth opportunity,” said Traci Simmons, CEO of ONB. “Indian companies are increasingly interested in North America and New Brunswick is well positioned to capitalize on that interest to the benefit of both jurisdictions. We are looking to strengthen both new and existing relationships in India and lay a foundation for the future.”
During the visit, which commenced in Delhi and will conclude in Mumbai, the delegation engaged in business-to-business (B2B) meetings, sector-focused discussions, and networking events, with the goal of expanding their respective markets and strengthening ties between New Brunswick and India.
The delegation includes top executives from a diverse range of companies including sectors such as natural cosmetics, legal, education, entertainment, technology, and marine services.

The visit is a strategic move to expand New Brunswick’s presence in the Indian market, and to create valuable business opportunities, foster deeper international collaboration and to underscore New Brunswick’s commitment to building robust economic and trade relationships with India which is a rapidly growing global market.
Bilateral Trade between the two countries has been on an all-time high amounting to US$8.4 billion at the end of the 2023 fiscal year on March 31 which has been growing every year according to Trade Ministry of India. Canadian funds, have cumulatively invested over US$54 billion in India and more than 600 Canadian companies have a presence in India in sectors including IT, banking, and financial services, and more than 1,000 companies are actively pursuing business in the Indian market, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.

Lampert LawGiC Professional Corporation, a business law firm, is looking to connect with Indian companies and law firms for mutual referrals.
Atlantic Education International is working to introduce New Brunswick’s K-12 curriculum to Indian schools.
The Learning Bar Inc. explores partnerships with private school networks to improve educational outcomes.
Teledyne CARIS, a marine GIS and LIDAR technology company, aims to expand their solutions for India’s ports, waterways, and government agencies.
Opportunities New Brunswick, based in Canada, is a Crown corporation to the provincial government and the lead economic development agency for the province. It seeks to attract and support opportunities to stimulate economic growth and create jobs by providing support services for businesses.
