The program will render financial benefits and enable academic success for overseas aspirants.

New Delhi: WorldGrad, the world’s smartest way to study overseas, has announced the launch of the ‘UK Year-1’ program to provide the finest academic opportunities to students who aspire to study in the United Kingdom. This undergraduate program is unique as it allows students to study virtually and work with a UK-based firm for one year before moving on-campus to pursue the remainder of the academic course. WorldGrad has partnered with Pearson, the world’s leading learning company, for this program. Pearson BTEC will provide students with an Ofqual-accredited UK curriculum for the first year in the disciplines of Business and Computing. As part of the UK Year-1 program, students will complete an 8-week virtual internship at a firm in the UK. The program will be led by experienced international faculty members, and students will have access to 7 days-a-week one-on-one academic support, which will help them succeed in the program.

Congratulating WorldGrad upon becoming a Pearson BTEC partner here in India, Baljit Singh, Regional Manager – India, Pearson, said, “More than 100,000 BTEC students apply to universities in the UK, and the numbers are growing each year. The WorldGrad model is well aligned with our Pearson BTEC Higher National, offering seamless progression to many global universities. The WorldGrad initiative shall help attract bigger cohorts of aspiring Indian learners seeking foreign degrees”.

The WorldGrad has partnered with 5 prestigious public universities, De Montfort University,  University of Northumbria, Sunderland University, University of The West of England and Wrexham Glyndwr University as the launch partners for this program.

Commenting on the collaboration with The WorldGrad, Professor Ray Priest, International Director, Asia Pacific, University of The West of England, said, “UWE Bristol is proud to work with The WorldGrad in allowing students to be bold, to stand out from the crowd and to take charge of their future career. This is an exciting learning journey where students can take the opportunity to be different and make a difference to the world in which we live.”

The tuition fee for the program is INR 6 Lakh. To encourage deserving students, The WorldGrad will award merit-based scholarships worth approximately INR 1 Lakh to successful applicants. The UK Year-1 program will offer several benefits to students who aspire to study in the United Kingdom. Home to a large number of the world’s renowned universities, the UK has emerged as a prominent international destination for higher studies over the years. However, education in the country can be expensive. Usually, the tuition fee for academic courses in the UK is approximately GBP 15,000-18,000 per annum (INR 15-18 Lakh), along with annual living expenses that vary from GBP 10,000-12,000 (INR 10-12 Lakh). Through the UK Year-1 program, students can reduce their overall costs of a UK undergraduate degree by approximately GBP 20,000 (INR 20 Lakh).

Commenting on the prospects of the UK Year-1 program, Abhinav Mital, Co-founder of The WorldGrad said, “In these highly competitive times, it has become essential for the students to receive the finest education so that they can succeed professionally. The United Kingdom is recognised worldwide as one of the best providers of education and a quality work environment. With the vision to encourage talented students who nurture a dream of pursuing higher education in the UK, we at The WorldGrad have collaborated with Pearson and five esteemed UK universities to launch the ‘UK Year-1’ program. Through the program, potential students will be able to pursue the first academic year of the specified course virtually from the comfort of their homes, followed by an internship. We are delighted that the programme advances The WorldGrad’s mission of making quality education accessible to all.”

The program will introduce the students to the education system, professional environment and culture of the UK, helping them adjust better to the academic and cultural environment on campus. The WorldGrad will provide application and visa assistance to the students, and the successful completion of the first academic year with The WorldGrad will portray their sincere intent to pursue higher education in the UK to the relevant authorities.

The program is an industry milestone which will fuel the ambition of meritorious students who want to accomplish academic excellence and a successful professional career in the UK. Within the first year of its launch, the UK Year-1 program will exclusively provide 100 seats intended to promote students with strong academic credentials.
