Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel felicitated Cadila Pharmaceuticals, one of the oldest and largest privately-held drug companies in the country, for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at improving the general health and well-being of local communities.
The CSR team of Cadila Pharmaceuticals accepted the award from the Chief Minister at a public event in Visnagar, Mehsana, recently.
Cadila Pharmaceuticals has participated in nine mega healthcare initiatives of the district health department in Mehsana and supported authorities by sponsoring necessary medicines, especially its iron syrup (Haem UP), to help adolescent girls, and pregnant and lactating women beat anaemia. The syrup is helpful for iron deficiency and anaemia, helps improve energy levels, boosts immune function, and supports overall health.
“Our felicitation by Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel is a recognition of our promise of impactful CSR initiatives for the betterment of the local communities. We are committed to targeted CSR initiatives that contribute to the welfare of local communities,” said Dr Bharat Champaneria, Trustee at Indrashil Kaka-Ba and Kala Budh Public Charitable Trust, the charitable arm of Cadila Pharmaceuticals.
Earlier this year, Cadila Pharma distributed school bags to young marginalised children of 50 plus schools during the Shala Praveshotsav campaign initially initiated by Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi in 2003, then Chief Minister of Gujarat and being taken forward by Hon’ble Gujarat CM Shri Bhupendra Patel.
The company also organised a blood donation camp and tree plantation drives across its campuses to mark its founder, Late Indravadan A Modi’s birth anniversary in February 2023.
The blood donation drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from Cadila Pharmaceuticals employees, with 71,000 ml of blood being donated in a single day. Hundreds of trees were planted at different locations of Cadila Pharmaceuticals on the occasion. Cadila Pharmaceuticals has already planted around 1 lakh trees in the ongoing fiscal, including 12,900 in the first two months of the year.
Speaking on the occasion, Health Minister Shri Rushikesh Patel acknowledged the support and contribution of Cadila Pharmaceuticals and other organisations in various health programmes of the government.
