New Delhi: China has accused the United States of showing double standards after the US said it might put an extra 100% tax (tariff) on Chinese goods.
A Chinese government spokesperson said that America keeps blaming China for trade problems but is itself taking actions that hurt China’s business and according to China, this is unfair and hypocritical.
The argument initially started after the scenario when China decided to limit the export of some of its rare earth minerals, which were important materials and used for making electronics and electric cars, China also said it had every right to do this, but the US called it unfair.
China also said that while the US talks about “free trade,” it is the one putting high tariffs on other countries’ goods.
So far, China has not announced any new taxes or bans on US products, but the situation between the two countries remains tense.
