New Delhi: An unidentified 26-year-old tech worker has hit social media stardom after sending out a story of his job being abruptly ended at 2:30 AM in his email. The following morning, when they logged into their Slack and Git accounts, they discovered that the company had already de-duped everything from their accounts prior to finding out about the actual firing, the worker said.
In an emotional Reddit post, the employee expressed her feelings of “lost and helpless.” They shared that the working atmosphere was highly problematic and that they had already been facing mental health problems because of the working culture in the company. The employee would often find himself waking up at night worrying about coding and deadlines.
The post also mentioned concerns at the present time in the employment market. The employee felt as though if they could find a similar job to the one they had just had and they could get a similar pay, then they would be able to go on with their life, their career, trips, and relationships, but they felt “stuck.”
People posted their career advice, emotional and supportive comments on social media. The employee was encouraged by several individuals to take time off to get some mental rest and sleep, update his resume, and start networking for new jobs. But others had lambasted companies over insensitive cuts.
