New Delhi: The political leaders are extolling Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for becoming the longest-serving elected Prime Minister in India. Trump was among his allies, who pronounced Modi to be a “strong and healthy and wise man” with a “long and prosperous career”.

It’s yet another big step in Modi’s political trajectory. He joined in the Prime Ministerial role on June 10th 2026, and continued to hold the position for 4,399 uninterrupted days, which was India’s top Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s longest serving tenure.
Some more leaders also came up with the congratulatory expressions like those from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Many leaders complimented Narendra Modi’s leadership and were much happy that he had helped in the growth of India and its position in the world.
Members of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hailed them in India. Special prayer and events to mark the day took place in several States. Senior officials, BJP workers, party ministers prayed for the long life of this young leader and for good health.
PM Modi has also termed his tenure as the prime minister as a “supreme privilege” and thanked the “Indian people” for their “trust & support.” A special resolution in his honor was passed by the Union Cabinet, while a five-point resolution acknowledged his achievements, along with his leadership for the past 12 years.
It marked the most important event in the democratic discourse of India and it shows how long Modi will remain in politics and what kind of impact politics would be having on him if he has been in power now for more than a year.
