Man turns luxury Maybach into taxi, earns ₹46,000 in just a day

New Delhi: A 30-year-old man from China, known as Yuan, has become super famous online because of his unusual idea, he turned a super expensive Mercedes-Maybach S480, worth about ₹1.8 crore, into a ride-hailing taxi in Beijing.

Yuan is from Henan province in northern China. He has been working in the luxury ride-hailing business since 2019. He even runs a social media account called “Old Yuan Drives a Maybach for Ride-Hailing”, which already has almost 1.2 lakh followers.

He bought the Maybach on November 1 last year for around ₹1.80 crore, to buy the car, he paid ₹79.7 lakh as down payment. Out of that, ₹58.6 lakh came from his own savings, which he collected over six years. For the remaining amount, he took a five-year loan and now pays about ₹1.7 lakh as EMI every month.

Unlike normal taxi drivers who take a lot of small trips, Yuan’s business is different. He focuses on giving a luxury experience to pre-booked, special customers. He does only around 40 rides in a month, but each ride pays really well. Some trips even earn him more than ₹58,600. In one case, he started working at 6:45 AM and made  ₹46,000 in just one day.

Yuan is very open about his earnings and expenses on social media, as per reports he spends about  ₹35,000 every month on the fuel, ₹23,000–₹35,000 on food, and about ₹52,700 on rent. Even after all these expenses, he manages to save almost ₹1.1 lakh every month, and that too while driving a Maybach at just 30 years old.

Many people online are talking about Yuan. Some wonder if he is actually rich or just really smart with money. Others are shocked at how much people are ready to pay for luxury rides. For example, one person said that even a 5.5 km ride in a normal S-class Mercedes costs about ₹3,500. So people are curious, who would take a Maybach just for daily travel?

Right now, Yuan’s service is only available in Beijing and Shanghai because the Maybach is approved for ride-hailing only in these cities. He has also told his followers to be realistic, as it’s not clear when such luxury rides will be available in other places.

Even though some people doubt him, Yuan says that driving the Maybach is not just a job for him, it’s his full-time career, he believes it’s more important to give a great experience to a few customers rather than just running behind more rides. His story has really inspired many people in China and around the world, showing a cool mix of business smarts, luxury dreams, and social media power.
