YouTube TV plans big Multiview upgrade with full channel support

New Delhi: YouTube has recently started to rolling out an latest upgrade to its Multiview feature on its YouTube TV, by enabling the users to watch multiple channels at once with more flexibility than before. This feature, which was initially limited to selected sports channels, now seems to be extending to more types of content, enabling users to choose what they want to watch at the same time.

Several YouTube TV subscribers have started to see the latest version of Multiview that supports all channels. This generally means that the users might soon be able to create their own custom viewing grid rather than relying on pre-selected channel combinations.

Multiview is currently one of the YouTube TV’s highlighted features, especially for sports viewers who want to watch multiple games at the same time. Since its unveiling, it has mostly been restricted to curated sets of channels, limiting how users might use it.

This appears to be changing; the users on Reddit have shared that the upgraded Multiview interface includes categories such as Recommended, Sports, News, Movies, and Shows. This indicates that this feature is being redesigned to support a broader range of content beyond live sports.

This upgrade also seems to offer users more control; rather than being limited to preset combinations, they can choose different live channels and add them to the Multiview grid, making this feature more personalized. This rollout does not appear to be widespread yet.

While some of the users have spotted this feature, it is not available to everyone at this stage. This also suggests that YouTube might be testing this upgrade with a smaller group before extending it more broadly.
