New Delhi: Recently, YouTube and YouTube Music faced massive outages in the United States, with more than 200,000 users reporting issues after Wednesday afternoon. DownDetector has reports showing that there is a gigantic outage with the YouTube services, with nearly 203,763 users reporting. Thousands of users have reported that they are facing an outage with YouTube’s music streaming platform. YouTube Music, as well as YouTube TV, have more than 4,873 users who have reported an outage with YouTube Music, while more than 2,379 users have stated they have faced issues with YouTube TV.
As per DownDetector, 54% of the issues that the users faced were with the video and music streaming. YouTube has not officially responded to these issues; however, YouTube support is actively replying to the frustrated users’ queries on X platform, but as of now, they have not said anything about what might have caused the outage.
Here’s a response by TeamYouTube, YouTube’s support account on X platform, in response to one user complaining about the outage. Most of the outages with the YouTube services were reported in the United States. According to the DownDetector, the services were affected in all major cities, among the most affected were Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Chicago, New York, Washington and Detroit. Despite claims that it could be a DDOS attack, YouTube has not said anything yet about the cause of the attack.
