New Delhi: Xiaomi has officially introduced its new custom chipset for upcoming smartphones. This chipset will be paired with the latest Xiaomi 15s Pro and Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra, and Xiaomi itself confirms it. This is not the first time that Xiaomi has introduced its custom chipset. Also, they offered the Surge S1 chip, which was launched in 2017 with the Xiaomi Mi 5C smartphone. Xiaomi has provided numerous details about its Xring O1 chipset on launch day. This chipset will be combined with a 10-core CPU and a 16-core GPU; the Xring O1 is also said to run more efficiently than peers like the Snapdragon 8 Elite or Apple A18 Pro.
Xiaomi has introduced various devices, including its Xiaomi 15s Pro and Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra tablet. The Xring O1 chipset will power these devices, the company’s first in-house chipset that it hopes will rival the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Apple A18 Pro found in the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
The Xring O1 chipset has achieved an AnTuTu score of 3,004,137. A score over 3 million scores the Xring O1 slightly behind the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the leading version inside the RedMagic 10S Pro+. On top of that, the scores matched Xiaomi’s chipset with the regular Snapdragon 8 Elite and MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 series chipsets.
Xiaomi has built the Xring O1 with a 10-core CPU that contains the following cores:
- 2x Cortex-X925 at 3.9 GHz (2 MB L2 cache per core)
- 4x Cortex-A725 at 3.4 GHz (1MB L2 cache per core)
- 2x Cortex-A725 at 1.9GHz (1 MB L2 cache per core)
- 2x Cortex-A520 at 1.8GHz (512 KB L2 cache)
However, the Xring O1 features the Immortalis-G925, a 16-core GPU that Xiaomi asserts offers first-rate performance in its own right. On top of that, the company claims that the Xring O1 manages its heat more efficiently than its peers when gaming and charging. This chipset will be a good-performing chipset that Xiaomi has created. Xiaomi can use this chipset in their mid-range phones, which will be a good place for this chipset to get into smartphones.
