New Delhi: Xiaomi is now gearing up to introduce its next flagship device, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, which will take over from the Xiaomi 15 Ultra at the top of the company’s lineup. Xiaomi has already confirmed that the device will debut in China later this week. The latest flagship places strong emphasis on photography, continuing Xiaomi’s collaboration with Leica to advance mobile imaging further. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will feature a refreshed design, officially teased by the company, while retaining the familiar large circular camera module on the rear.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will come with a triple rear camera configuration. It is also expected to feature the primary camera as a 50MP with a large 1-inch OmniVision OV50X sensor. The most significant upgrade is stated to be the addition of the telephoto camera. Reports also suggested that Xiaomi will add continuous optical zoom technology that allows smooth zooming from about 3x up to 7x without loss of quality. The telephoto lens is also stated to support a 70mm to 100mm focal length and could rely on a 200MP sensor. The device will also introduce Xiaomi’s first Leica APO zoom camera, which may enhance sharpness in macro photography across various lighting conditions.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra is anticipated to boast a 6.85-inch OLED display with a high refresh rate. In terms of design, the device is expected to include a flat display with rounded corners and unique segmented circular volume buttons. The device is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The leaks also suggested that the device could house the 100W wired fast charging support. Xiaomi 17 Ultra will officially debut in China on December 25 at the Xiaomi-Lecia event. Indian users may have to wait a little longer until official confirmation details are revealed.
