New Delhi: Users might have heard about the shared audio between the two devices simultaneously on the Copilot+ PC. Many of the users are using this as if they have two headphones, speakers or any other Bluetooth hardware; they can share audio simultaneously without any issues. In some sources, it has been reported that Microsoft is testing a new feature called shared audio, which is mainly built on top of the Bluetooth LE Audio broadcast technology.
And with the Bluetooth LE Audio broadcast technology, Windows can now transmit an audio stream to two Bluetooth devices. Like presently, if the users have a Bluetooth speaker and an earbud, they can connect only one of them. Even if the users manage to connect the two devices, they cannot play audio through both at the same time. This is a limitation of Bluetooth, but the newer modems include support for Bluetooth LE Audio broadcast technology. Modern PCs, particularly Copilot+ PCs, have this type of technology, and Microsoft is finally adding support for shared audio to Windows 11.
This shared audio lets the students share the music with friends while studying or brings family members closer by watching a movie together on an aeroplane. In Windows 11, built 26220.7051 (KB5067115), users can turn on the latest shared audio shortcut in quick settings to start sharing the audio.
Microsoft has also said that support for more devices will be added later, but for now, only these PCs support the shared audio feature:
