New Delhi: WhatsApp has recently started rolling out its latest interface change for iPhone users, by unveiling a new ‘You’ tab in place of the settings section. This update also shifts the aim towards profile access and account identity, while also adding a profile icon in the bottom bar for easier recognition. This rollout is gradual, so not all of the users might see it yet.
WhatsApp is also experimenting with the profile page by adding a default cover photo at the top of the screen in the ‘You’ tab. The cover photo also offers a large header that personalizes the profile.
WhatsApp has also replaced the current Settings tab with the latest section called ‘You.’ The tab aims for more on user identity and profile details rather than just application settings. The tab is largely the same as Settings, but with the latest name and layout. The users can tap on the profile icon to open account details and manage their settings.
It also includes a profile icon that will help users quickly identify which account is in use. It is particularly useful as WhatsApp offers multi-account support to the same users. The icon also works as a visual indicator, making it easier to recognize or switch between accounts.
The latest profile tab is included in the latest WhatsApp for iOS version available on the App Store. This feature is also rolling out widely, but not all users might see it immediately. WhatsApp is also experimenting with the refreshed profile page layout. Some of the users might notice a large cover photo at the top of their profile.
This also acts as the header and gives the profile a more modern look. This feature is still limited; users who can see the cover photo cannot change it yet, as it is currently set to the default image.
