New Delhi: WhatsApp has recently started rolling out its latest interface for Apple CarPlay after beta testing. The revamped CarPlay experience is now rolling out with the latest application upgrade for iOS. This upgrade unveils a more structured interface, especially designed to end reliance on voice-only commands, and is also focused on reducing distractions while driving.
This upgraded CarPlay interface is stated to be rolling out with the latest WhatsApp for iOS 26.13.74 upgrade.
With this latest CarPlay application, users can send messages and make calls to individuals or groups directly from their car’s display, while the conversations will remain end-to-end encrypted. WhatsApp on CarPlay was going to be limited to Siri-based interactions.
The users will have to rely on the voice commands to send or read messages, which often leads to errors or misunderstandings. There will be no proper interface to view chats, recent calls, or contacts, making it less convenient to use while driving.
This latest native application might going to have changed this by offering a dedicated layout that will going to bring key features to the dashboard. This first tab shows a list of recent chats, focusing on highlighting unread messages. The users cannot open the full conversations, which is a deliberate choice to avoid distractions.
This enables the drivers to stay aware of incoming messages without engaging deeply while on the road.
Whereas the second tab aims at call history, it displays a list of incoming, outgoing, and missed calls alongside timestamps and contact names. The users can tap on a contact to quickly return a call, making it easier to manage recent interactions compared to the earlier voice-only system. Profile icons are also going to be shown for the users to identify contacts quickly.
However, the third tab is dedicated to favorite contacts. This section will going to enables the users to quickly reach the people they are going to communicate with most often, without scrolling through long lists. It syncs with the favorite already set on the iPhone.
WhatsApp CarPlay will automatically appear on the dashboard when the iPhone is connected, offering quicker and more direct access to messaging and calls while driving.
