New Delhi: WhatsApp has been experiencing a widespread outage, affecting users globally on both mobile and web platforms. Numerous individuals have reported issues with sending messages, as indicated by a clock icon next to unsent messages. The problem started around 11:40 PM IST, and reports have been mounting on DownDetector, a real-time outage tracking website.
Although there were no initial mentions of server-related problems on Meta’s status page, it has since been updated to acknowledge the ongoing issues. The WhatsApp Business API Status has also been updated, citing “Major disruptions: Cloud API.” According to the error message, there is an outage impacting service on the Cloud API.
While other Meta services like Facebook and Instagram remain unaffected, users have turned to social media platforms, such as X (formerly Twitter), to confirm the widespread outage. The hashtag #WhatsAppDown is currently trending on X as users seek reassurance that they are not alone in facing messaging difficulties.
