New Delhi: A few months ago, we heard that Meta was testing a new feature on WhatsApp they are testing including real-time translation on the messaging service. And now they have finally announced the real-time translation features on WhatsApp for their users, who are managing high-profile clients who are from international countries. Meta aims to ease cross-language chats among its more than 3 billion users. These translations will initially be available in six languages on Android devices and 19 languages on iPhones, with more languages to follow.
we made it happen 😌
You can now translate messages right in your chats and they are translated on your phone, keeping them end-to-end encrypted (that’s the privacy respecting way to do it, after all) https://t.co/lBlRnCcu9v

Message translations were primarily designed to protect the privacy of their chats. That’s why translations occur on their devices where WhatsApp cannot see them. Meta has given this statement to the users. Users can long-press on a message and tap on Translate to see any of the messages in another language. The feature works for personal and group chats as well as channel updates. On Android, users can also enable automatic translations for an entire chat thread so future messages are translated by the default option.
While these features will roll out to the Android and iOS users alike, it’s the former group that gets the enhanced experience. WhatsApp users on Android can enable automatic translation for the entire thread, bypassing the one-by-one translation method iOS users will need, while also translating the latest messages within that specific conversation as they roll into their inbox. These features will be pretty helpful for professionals who are handling those high-profile international clients.
