New Delhi: A top smartphone maker, Vivo, is set to return to the Indian market with its smartphones in years to come. Consequently, in few years Vivo is expected to introduce S-series phone to the Indian market. Leaks indicate that the all-important Vivo S2 will release in the country in August 2026. There hasn’t been official confirmation from the company that the handset will be available on launch but from a leaked preview poster, and a teaser shot, the phone may be only a few days away.
There is a leaked teaser of what this new slim phone will look like, and it features a premium look. It’s anticipated to boast a flat screen with not much of a bezel and a new camera module at the back. It has been reported that Vivo will stick to the aspects of style and camera features and will continue to be one of the primary considerations for the S-series.
Moving on to the specs, just like its predecessor, the Vivo S1, Vivo S2 is expected to ship with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen that supports a higher refresh rate of 120Hz on scrolling and gaming sessions. It will sport the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor and up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The handset should also pre-load Android 16-powered Funtouch OS.
As far as the camera is concerned, it seems that S2 may offer a 50MP Sony camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. Front, it has to have a 50MP selfie camera, which would make it a fine choice for all those who like clicking selfies and video calling with their friends.
A 6,500mAh battery is also expected to prop up the smartphone, enabling it to be efficiently recharged. Additional features in the ToBe legio input group include an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers and an IP-rated body for improved dust and water resistance.
As far as pricing is concerned, various sources believe that the Vivo S2 will be on sale in India for a price of approximately ₹25,000 to ₹30,000, thus competing with the upper mid-range. Should it come to pass that the leaks are true, the phone will square off with devices such as the Redmi Note Pro series, Motorola Edge series, and Nothing Phone series.
All these details are currently leaked and reported, and hence are prone to changes; it is best to wait for the official announcement by Vivo. But Vivo S2 is going to be a stylish and attractive smartphone in terms of its camera capabilities, large battery, high charging speed, and also the smartphone design makes it one of the interesting launches to circle through in August.
