New Delhi: Recent reports have suggested that Vivo is gearing up to make a comeback of its S-series phones in India after nearly seven years of pause. The upcoming Vivo S2 is likely to debut on August 6, although Vivo has not officially confirmed any launch date. The Vivo S-series last appeared in India with Vivo S1 in 2019. Vivo S2 is expected to aim the premium mid-range segment with pricing expected between Rs 45,000 – Rs 50,000.
Vivo hasn’t revealed any official hardware details, but multiple leaks indicate the device might feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint scanner. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor.
In terms of photography, we might see a triple rear camera setup which might include a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera sensor. On the front, there would be a 32MP main camera sensor for selfies and video calling.
Several reports claim it might have a 7,000mAh battery pack with up to 80W fast charging support. Rumors suggested that Vivo is positioning the S2 as a slim, lightweight camera-centric device, despite packing a large battery. Vivo is reported to be aiming for premium aesthetics and photography capabilities to distinguish it from its V-series devices.
