Swiggy rolls out budget-friendly app to save you money

New Delhi: Swiggy the food delivering brand, firstly they have introduced the Swiggy Instamart where the users get their basic products in just 10 minutes, and now they have recently launched their budget-friendly application which they have named as Toing. This application is targeting the price-conscious consumers. This application will offer some affordable meal options priced between Rs 99 and Rs 150. Specifically, it has been designed for students and young professionals with limited disposable income. According to some sources, Toing is currently live in selected areas like Pune, including Kothrud, Hinjewadi, Wakad, Aundh, and Pimple Saudagar. This application features mini meals, burgers, sandwiches, cakes, and desserts, with the platform fee for Rs 12 compared to the Rs 14.99 on the main Swiggy application.

This marks the first time that Swiggy is testing a new application outside its usual Bengaluru base. Sources also suggest that Pune was chosen due to its large student population and young workforce, representing an underpenetrated market compared to Bengaluru. Toing becomes Swiggy’s seventh standalone application, joining Instamart, Snacc, Dineout, Crew, and Pyng. This launch represents Swiggy’s shift from an super-application strategy to super brands models with the separate applications for the different services.

The timing coincides with the intensifying competition in the food delivery space. Reports also suggest that Toing will directly compete with the Radio’s recently launched Ownly application, which targets similar demographics. Swiggy also reportedly selling its 12% stake in Rapido for up to Rs 2,500 crore. Toing differentiates itself from Swiggy’s other affordable options by focusing exclusively on the Rs 99- 150 price range, while Snacc targets 10-minute canteen-style deliveries. The application features a green and pink colour scheme, departing from Swiggy’s traditional orange branding to appeal to younger audiences.
