New Delhi: Google has recently started rolling out its Snapseed 4.0 for Android, bringing its application its biggest redesign in years after a long period of limited upgrades. Snapseed is Google’s free photo-editing application, which is available on Android and iPhone, and is actually known for offering professional-style editing tools.
This latest upgrade brings Android users a redesigned interface alongside some latest editing tools, camera features, and film-style effects.
It also unveils a refreshed interface with faster editing controls, a customizable favorites bar, and simplified tool categories. It also added features like non-destructive editing, batch editing, smart masking tools, and the latest Snapseed Camera mode with real-time film-style filters, offering users more advanced controls without adding subscriptions or watermarks.
This homepage now shows a grid of recently edited images, while editing controls are organized into three tabs: Looks, Tools, and Export. Inside the Tools section, options are grouped into categories like Refine, Fix, Style, and All to make navigation easier. Users can still swipe left or right to adjust the values and swipe up or down for the additional settings, the same as in older versions of Snapseed.
Google has also added quick theme switching between dark and light modes, alongside a histogram view for users who want more detailed exposure information while editing. It also continues to provide its editing tools without subscriptions, ads, or watermarks. This application now also includes more than 30 tools and filters, including selective editing, RAW photo support, and much more.
