New Delhi: Shazam has recently introduced a new feature allowing users to identify music even while wearing headphones, as announced by the Apple-owned company. To utilize this capability, users simply need to open the Shazam app, confirm headphone connectivity through the displayed icon, and proceed to identify music playing in their surroundings or within apps such as TikTok and YouTube. The update is compatible with both wired and Bluetooth headphones.
For instance, if you’re watching a TikTok video with headphones and come across a song you like, you can open Shazam, initiate the identification process, return to TikTok, and after a brief pause in the music, go back to Shazam to discover the song’s title and artist. This feature is also handy for those wearing headphones in public spaces, like a coffee shop, who wish to identify the background music without removing their headphones.
It’s important to highlight that Shazam had previously enabled users to identify songs within apps like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. However, the noteworthy enhancement is that this can now be done seamlessly, even when headphones are being used. Shazam, founded in 2002, was acquired by Apple in 2017 for $400 million and currently boasts over 300 million monthly users worldwide.
