Samsung Internet browser joins Windows, expanding beyond Galaxy devices

New Delhi: Samsung has officially announced that they are bringing its most popular Internet browser application to Windows 11 and Windows 10 PCs, and users in the United States or South Korea can be the first to try it by just signing up for the Samsung Internet beta program. Galaxy smartphones have shipped with the default web browser dubbed Internet, which over time has become somewhat of a hidden gem amongst Samsung device users. It has a great browser, complete with extension support, dark mode, and cross-device sync with users’ Samsung accounts.

It has recently gained some of the AI features, such as the ability to summarise webpages, and more. It is customizable too, letting the users change the position of the address bar, tabs, and UI buttons. Now the application is coming to the Windows PCs, based on Chromium. The latest Samsung Internet browser for Windows PCs is now a fully featured browsing experience, complete with tab and bookmark syncing, saved passwords, extension support, and even AI features. It features sign-in with Samsung, which will sync user data between the Samsung Internet clients, too.

This Internet browser features a very familiar browser UI, but with more rounded corners, which are in line with Samsung’s One UI design language. It features a cool tab overview page that is very animation-heavy and blurs the background with whatever webpage users have open, and it also includes the built-in AdBlocker and web page dark mode theme option. Samsung Internet for the PC enables users to sync their browsing data, such as bookmarks and browsing history. Personal data is also synchronised with the Samsung Pass, helping users sign in to websites or autofill profiles securely across devices. In addition, users will now be prompted to resume browsing when switching between mobile devices and PC, enabling a more seamless, cross-device web experience.

The latest Samsung Internet is currently in beta and is only available in the United States and South Korea for users who sign up for the Samsung Internet PC Beta. Availability is expected to broaden over the coming weeks and months, and will likely even be pre-installed on Samsung Galaxy laptops running Windows 11.
