New Delhi: Samsung is rumored to be preparing the Galaxy S25 series, which are set to include the model, the S25+, and the S25 Ultra. Recent sightings of such models on India’s certification site, BIS, also point to an imminent launch in the near future, seeing the Galaxy S25 featured under the model number SM-931B/DS. This is a development from last year’s Galaxy S23, which had the model number SM-921B/DS. The Galaxy S25 is going to be the most compact model in the series and therefore the entry-level variant.
The Galaxy S25 series is said to be launched at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, which is rumored to happen in late January 2024. According to sources, this event might take place on January 22 or 23, in accordance with Samsung’s plan to release new products in the first half of the year.
All three versions of the Galaxy S25 line are reportedly to come with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset that is to be the upgrade from last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. Key features that can be expected to be shared by the three include:
Display: The vanilla variant of Galaxy S25 would be having a 6.2-inch AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Camera Setup: A triple lens camera with wide, ultra-wide and telephoto lens.
Charging: The devices are anticipated to feature 25W fast charging support.
RAM: The basic variant is supposed to carry 12GB of RAM.
This is what is gathered from the leaks and rumors; but the future flagship lineup by Samsung does seem pretty promising from this.
Design Differences:
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is also rumored to have a dramatic design change from its predecessors. Leaked images indicate a flat frame design with rounded edges, unlike the boxy design of previous models, but it is likely to carry on the flat display trait of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The Ultra version of the phone is anticipated to have a five-camera module, similar to that in the previous iteration, but design aspects will be taken from the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Furthermore, it has also been said that an integrated S Pen will be situated on the bottom left-hand side of the device.
User Interface Improvements
Samsung will also unveil OneUI 7 with the Galaxy S25 series. It is expected to be Android 15-based and shall introduce a number of enhancements, such as redesigned app icons, an updated camera application, and a revamped Quick Settings interface.
In addition to the standard, Plus, and Ultra models, there are reports suggesting that Samsung may also be developing a fourth variant called the Galaxy S25 Slim. This model is expected to launch later than the others, possibly around mid-2025.
