New Delhi: Redmagic has officially released its Astra 2 Gaming Tablet for the global markets on July 17, 2026. However, its global version of Gaming Tablet 5 Pro was introduced in China in June. This tablet is focused on esports players and mobile gamers looking for flagship-level Android gaming performance. It sports a 9.06-inch 2.4K OLED display with a high 185Hz refresh rate and peak brightness up to 1,600nits.
This gaming tablet is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with a dedicated RedCore R4 gaming chip and an Energy Cube 3.0 intelligent performance engine. However, the dedicated gaming chip handles display optimization, touch response, and graphics-related tasks by reducing the workload on the main processor during gaming. It is coupled with up to 24GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 Pro onboard storage.
Gaming performance is supported by one of the industry’s most advanced cooling systems, with an active liquid-cooling system with an internal micro-pump and a large vapor chamber. It comes with multiple graphite cooling layers and RGB lighting around the cooling module. However, this design helps to maintain high frame rates during the long gaming sessions without significant thermal throttling. It houses a massive 8,300mAh battery pack with up to 80W fast charging and reverse charging support.
Redmagic has packed some gaming-aimed enhancements: ultra-low touch latency, Synaptics S3930 touch controller. Quad stereo speakers with MORA AI gaming assistant. Gaming mode optimization and certified for competitive mobile esports titles. It comes with USB-C connectivity for gaming accessories. In terms of the camera, it includes a 13MP main camera sensor, and on the front, it has a 9MP main camera sensor.
Out of the box, it comes with Redmagic OS 11.5 based on Android 16. It also includes a gaming dashboard, performance tuning, AI tools, and customizable controls. Redmagic has not officially announced its debut date in India yet. This tablet is expected to arrive in India in the coming months via online channels.
