New Delhi: So, finally, Qualcomm has recently announced that its next powerhouse chipset is going to come globally. Qualcomm’s Chinese branch has announced that the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC will launch on November 26. The brand didn’t reveal the complete specifications and the features of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5; however, back in September, it had described the SoC as a mobile platform developed to give users more choices and flexibility, while still delivering flagship features.
Later, it was confirmed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, like the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, is built on the 3nm process, but with the prime and performance cores having a maximum clock speed of 3.8GHz and 3.32GHz, respectively. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5’s prime cores are clocked at up to 4.6GHz, while the performance cores are clocked at up to 3.62GHz.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 was also believed to come in a 1+7 configuration, but reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has recently claimed it will come in a 2+6 configuration like its Elite counterpart. That means two prime crores and six performance crores. The tipster also stated that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 would use the Adreno 840 GPU, but its performance won’t be the same as the Elite chip’s. This upcoming flagship processor might power the mid-range segment devices like Motorola, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, and Poco. This processor will make more bang and crazy performance in mid-range segment devices.
