New Delhi: Qualcomm has started teasing its upcoming latest Snapdragon Elite-branded chips side by side, and it uses the wording “Dual 8 Elites” and “twice the options.” This is the strongest indication so far that Qualcomm will unveil two separate flagship mobile platforms this year. However, the upcoming two chips are likely to be: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. The company has not yet officially confirmed or disclosed any final names or specs, so the Gen 6 and Gen 6 Pro names should still be treated as expected instead of fully confirmed.

Both processors might move to TSMC’s 2nm manufacturing process, which might bring improvements in performance and power efficiency. Both are likely to continue Qualcomm’s custom Oryon CPU architecture, with a reported 2+3+3 CPU configuration. Pro model is likely to be considerably more powerful on the GPU and memory side.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit 2026 has officially been scheduled for September 22-24 in Hawaii, with the latest flagship Snapdragon platform likely to be introduced during the main event. A two-chip strategy might going to offer the company a more clearer way to compete across different premium smartphone price points. Standard Gen 6 might aim at mainstream flagship devices, while the Pro model might be focused on ultra-premium and performance-oriented devices.
Some upcoming flagship devices are already rumored to adopt the latest platforms, including the Xiaomi 18 series, iQOO 16, Samsung Galaxy S27 series, and OnePlus 16. These device processor combinations are based on leaks and reports instead of final manufacturer confirmations.
