New Delhi: Google has seemingly launched its new Pixel Watch 5 without its watchful eye. It has now been spotted within Google Health, providing one more solid indication that the brand new smartwatch is set to launch.
A tipster confirmed the Pixel Watch 5 is included as a disallowed device in Google Health app. The Pixel Watch 5 is now listed as a disallowed device in the Google Health app, as revealed by screenshots. Users are even allowed to choose the smartwatch and start the setup procedure. The app does not indicate any significant new features, however. Rather, it presents primarily the normal setup displays that you get when connecting a smartwatch to this app.
One of the interesting facts is that Google is seemingly sticking to the same image for Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Watch 5. The image is clearly a temporary variant of the watch, given that previous leaks hint the new watch will be hugely similar to its predecessor.
Earlier reports suggest that the new Pixel Watch 5 can be found in four sizes (41mm, 45mm), though the Health App indicates no hardware changes. Both Wi-Fi and LTE versions are also expected to be available. Yet another listing on the Google Play Console surmised that the smartwatch would get an upgrade to 3GB of RAM, maintain the same processor and graphics of the previous generation.
Google is likely to make the Pixel Watch 5’s official announcement at the next hardware event on August 12, along with the Pixel 11 smartphone series. In the meantime, leaks and app news such as this provide an early idea of what the company is doing.
While there’s no new excitement in this new look, it does prove that Google is getting the software it’ll need in the next iteration of the smartwatch. With the live event running closer, the details of Pixel Watch 5’s design, performance, health aspects, and software are also likely to start materializing.
