New Delhi: Sony is one of the leading names in the premium consumer goods and is popularly known for their most popular PlayStation series ever made by them, and today’s most popular series, PlayStation 5, and they have recently introduced the latest parental control applications in their famous lineup, PlayStation Family, for iOS and Android. This application will allow the parents to monitor and manage their children’s gaming activity on the PS5 and PS4 consoles directly from their smartphones. With features like the playtime limits, purchase controls, content filters, and social settings, the application gives parents more control over how their kids play online with their friends.

PlayStation Family is a mobile-based extension of PlayStation’s parental controls. Instead of only using the console, parents can now manage everything directly through their smartphone. This application also supports guided onboarding to create or link the child’s PlayStation account easily and sends instant notifications when the child starts playing the games.
Sony has also confirmed that the PlayStation Family application is available worldwide for download on the App Store and Google Play from September 11. The company also stated that several features will be added in future updates for the parents to use for enhanced security. In recent years, tech companies like Google, Meta and OpenAI have also rolled out this feature or parental controls to protect minors from inappropriate online content. Sony’s latest application follows this trend, making it easier for parents to stay informed and set healthy limits on the gaming of their children.
