New Delhi: Opera, the web browser company, has introduced a new AI side panel called “Aria” in its browser. This innovative feature is powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology. With Aria, users can access generative AI services at no cost.

According to a blog post by Opera, Aria serves as both a web and browser expert, allowing users to collaborate with AI while conducting web searches, generating text or code, and obtaining answers to product-related inquiries. The company emphasizes that Aria is currently available for testing, demonstrating its commitment to continuous improvement and user feedback.

Built on Opera’s existing “Composer” infrastructure, Aria seamlessly integrates with OpenAI’s GPT technology and incorporates additional functionalities, including real-time results from the web. This integration ensures that Aria provides users with up-to-date information, distinguishing it from standard GPT-based solutions that may be limited to pre-2021 content. As a result, Aria offers a more advanced and comprehensive AI-powered browsing experience.

Aria is being rolled out to more than 180 countries, including the countries within the European Union (EU). Opera envisions even deeper integration of the AI-based service into future versions of its browser. Ultimately, the goal is to seamlessly blend Aria into the browser’s native functionality, enabling users to perform cross-browser tasks with ease.

To test Aria, desktop users can download the latest version of the Opera One browser (developer version), while Android users can access the beta version of the browser from the Google Play Store. By actively involving users in the testing process, Opera aims to refine and enhance Aria based on real-world usage and feedback.

Opera’s introduction of Aria represents its commitment to leveraging AI technology to improve the browsing experience for its users. By combining the power of ChatGPT with Opera’s expertise in web browsing, Aria presents a promising step toward a more integrated and intelligent web browsing environment.
