New Delhi: Recently, several reports claims that OnePlus has started preparing for its upcoming OnePlus 16. It is going to be a major flagship upgrade with changes in design, battery, display, and camera hardware. However, the company hasn’t officially confirmed these details, and multiple reliable tipsters have also pointed in the similar direction. OnePlus 16 is tipped to debut in October 2026, by following OnePlus’s usual flagship release schedule. Reports suggested that the India debut is expected shortly after the China launch, although official dates are yet to be confirmed.
The device is rumored to sport ultra-thin, symmetrical bezels, by making it one of the most bezel-less devices from OnePlus. Leaks also indicate a more refined rear panel with a redesigned camera island for a cleaner, premium appearance. OnePlus is expected to retain its signature premium metal and glass construction while reducing the overall visual bulk. The major upgrade is rumored to be a massive 9,000mAh battery, which might be among the largest ever fitted in the mainstream flagship device.
It improves battery longevity via silicon-carbon battery technology, with multi-day battery life for most users. It is rumored to feature a flat OLED display around 6.8 inches with up to a 240Hz refresh rate and higher peak brightness, with Ultra-slim bezels and a more immersive viewing experience. OnePlus is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. It might be coupled with LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 4.1 onboard storage. Out of the box, it will run on ColorOS based on Android 17.
Leaks also indicate that it might have notable improvements to the camera hardware, including a 50MP main camera sensor and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with Hasselblad camera tuning. It has enhanced AI photography features and improved zoom capabilities.
