New Delhi: OnePlus 16 has begun to surface even as the OnePlus 15 continues its global rollout. According to some sources, OnePlus is planning a significant change to its flagship camera strategy in 2026. The device is stated to adopt the same camera hardware as the upcoming Oppo Find N6, marking closer hardware sharing between the two sister brands. OnePlus 16 will use the flagship imaging setup developed for the Oppo Find N6.
This is expected to include both the primary camera and the telephoto lens. The OnePlus 16 is tipped to feature a 200MP rear camera, likely to be positioned as a telephoto sensor rather than the primary shooter. Oppo Find N6 suggested that the triple rear camera unit, consisting of significant changes, would represent a clear departure from the OnePlus 15, which features a triple 50MP rear camera setup.
OnePlus 15 faced criticism for reducing screen sizes despite maintaining similar pixel counts to its predecessor. While the software turning helped offset some of these limitations, camera performance was often seen as a step back compared to earlier OnePlus flagships. A move to a 2000MP telephoto sensor on the OnePlus 16 could be aimed at addressing these concerns, particularly in zoom photography and detailed shots.
OnePlus may experiment with the display specifications on its upcoming flagships, including very high refresh rates. The details around the processor, battery and launch timeline of the OnePlus 16 remain unknown at this stage. The reported specifications should be treated cautiously; OnePlus has not confirmed any details related to the OnePlus 16, and the final hardware decisions could change ahead of the official announcement expected later in 2026.
