New Delhi: Netflix has officially introduced its latest application, Netflix Playground, focused on children aged eight and under. The Playground application is especially designed to go beyond regular video streaming by combining games with the familiar characters.
This application will be part of the existing Netflix subscription and aims to offer an ad-free experience without in-application purchases. Netflix is also expanding its push into gaming by creating a dedicated space where kids can interact with content based on popular shows.
And now it is available on iPhone and iPad in select markets and will be rolling out gradually on April 28.
Now, the actual question: what is Netflix Playground? So, it is a standalone application that the users can access by just signing in with their existing Netflix account. It also features a curated collection of games built around well-known characters from popular shows like Peppa Pig and Sesame Street.
All of the games can be instantly playable and can also be used offline, and by making them accessible even without an internet connection. Netflix Playground is especially introduced for children, with a simple interface and content suited for younger users.
This platform does not include ads or in-application purchases, which keeps the experience straight and free from interruptions.
But the thing is, Netflix Playground is only available in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, the Philippines, and New Zealand. Netflix has also confirmed that the wider global unveiling has been scheduled for April 28.
