New Delhi: Microsoft has officially introduced its Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition gaming console during the Xbox Showcase 2026 as part of the celebrations marking 25 years of the Xbox brand. This special edition console draws inspiration from the original Xbox and features with the translucent OG Green design alongside some references to the Xbox’s gaming history.
This announcement was made via Xbox Wire, where the Xbox detailed both the latest console and the Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition. This collection is focused on commemorating the journey of Xbox since its unveiling and recognizing the community that has supported the platform over the years.
Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition is the first Xbox Series X model to feature a translucent design. The console retains the hardware capabilities of the standard Xbox Series X while unveiling the latest appearance inspired by the original Xbox console released in 2001.
Special Edition model features 1TB of storage and includes a translucent green exterior. It also added some anniversary-themed details across the console. It has a green-lit Xbox logo that references the startup sequence of the original Xbox. The front of the device also carries a dedicated Xbox 25th anniversary logo.
The design includes multiple visual tributes to Xbox history and long-term fans, with additional hidden details integrated into the hardware.
Microsoft has also unveiled the Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition. This controller continues the translucent OG Green theme and incorporates design elements inspired by earlier Xbox hardware.
The controller features the original ABXY color scheme and includes bumper accents that pay tribute to the black and white buttons found on the original Duke controller. It also used a translucent rear shell and battery cover, enabling users to see the classic Xbox logo inside the controller.
