Microsoft unveils Copilot Vision bold new rival to Google Gemini Live

New Delhi: Microsoft has unveiled its Copilot Vision for Windows, which will assist users in real-time with their daily tasks. It is designed to be a second set of eyes that navigate, analyse, and carry out tasks directly on their PC. It has been developed to become a go-to companion application for everyday tasks. It rivals Gemini Live, developed by Google.

When users activate Copilot Vision, it uses voice to answer questions about what the page user is reading and can suggest what to do next, such as reading a blog post on the release. It serves as a tool to enable users to connect their computers to Microsoft’s virtual AI chatbot, Copilot. Once the tool is enabled, Copilot can observe the user’s screen and provide context-specific help.

For instance, if a user needs to find a button in a menu, open two different applications, or ask questions about what they see on their screen, it will allow users to collaborate with the AI and also use their PC effectively.

Presently, Copilot Vision has been rolled out for Windows 10 and Windows 11 users in the United States. The Redmond-based company plans to expand the latest tool to more non-European countries soon. It is a part of Copilot Lab, an experimental program from Microsoft where users can access and test the beta and unreleased features of Microsoft Copilot.

Copilot Vision can be activated by following some steps that are mentioned:

1: Open the Copilot application.
2: Click on the glasses icon in the Copilot composer.
3: Select the browser window or app users want to share.
4: Then, ask Copilot to help with the task the user is working on.
5: to stop sharing, press Stop or X in the composer.

This rollout from Microsoft highlights its efforts to make computing more interactive and personalized. The latest tool is designed to provide a flexible and opt-in experience, allowing the user to control it.
