New Delhi: Microsoft recently introduced its Copilot app on Android and iOS, including iPadOS, during the holiday season. This application grants users access to Copilot, formerly known as Bing Chat, functioning similarly to OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Users can input questions or prompts to receive AI-generated responses, facilitating tasks such as drafting emails, composing stories, summarizing texts, creating travel itineraries, and updating resumes. The app also features an Image Creator powered by DALL·E 3, allowing users to explore various styles, curate social media content, design logos, and visualize storyboards.
The app’s description highlights the combination of GPT-4’s power with the creative capabilities of DALL·E 3, enhancing design workflows and inspiring creativity. Since its holiday launch, Copilot has been downloaded over 1.5 million times globally on both Android and iOS platforms. Notably, Copilot provides free access to OpenAI’s GPT-4 technology, a significant offering compared to OpenAI’s GPT app, which relies on GPT-3.5 technology and requires payment for GPT-4 access.
The mobile launch of Copilot coincides with Microsoft’s rebranding of Bing Chat to Copilot in November. While Copilot now provides similar functionality, it’s unclear whether Microsoft plans to replace the Bing app with Copilot, as the company has not provided any official statements on this matter.
