New Delhi: Those who are using Threads now have 10,000 characters to play around with when they are posting on Threads. This platform also stated that it will allow users to append text snippets of up to 10,000 characters, which is now very helpful for journalists, bloggers, and creators. So far, Threads has enabled 500 characters, which is more than the 280 characters offered to the X unverified users. But in 2023, X introduced a way for its paid subscribers to post up to 25,000 characters, which was expected to bring in more creators to publish content directly on the platform.
Now the users can add the text attachment to the post by tapping a new rectangle icon with the lines on it. It will also open a Word editor where users can type and format their text with bold, italics, underlines, and strikethroughs. On their feed, a text attachment appears as a small block below the main post. Tapping the block will expand to show the full attachment for the users to read. If users include any link in their main Threads post, that link will also appear in the expanded text attachment.
This will give people more room to express themselves and start the conversations, and help their community discover their work wherever it lives if any author can attach text to their post to tease a portion of the forthcoming novel, while the journalist might promote their latest think piece. Text attachments are part of their ongoing efforts to improve the creator experience on Threads, which is an official statement by Meta.
