New Delhi: Meta has finally started rolling out its latest centralised support hub for Facebook and Instagram, aiming to make account help faster and more reliable for users worldwide. The company has also stated that the hub brings all the support tools into one place, including an option to report issues, recover accounts and get instant answers through an AI-powered search. Meta also features the latest account recovery process with smarter verification, stronger security and improved detection systems. It includes features like passkeys and two-factor authentication. This update is now rolling out globally on both iOS and Android.
The latest hub acts as a single destination for handling account issues. Instead of searching through different menus, users will now find tools to report problems, recover accounts they no longer have access to, and look up answers through an AI-powered search bar. Meta has also stated that the goal is to help people solve problems quickly without confusion. A significant part of this update includes the latest AI support assistant that is currently being tested. The assistant is designed to give personalised help with tasks like recovering an account, adjusting privacy or security settings, or managing profile details. Meta is launching it first on Facebook and plans to expand it to Instagram and other applications later.
Meta has highlighted how AI is helping strengthen account security, and more innovative detection systems have reduced the latest account hacks by more than 30% over the past year across Facebook and Instagram. The AI models evaluate login behaviour, spot suspicious activity, and block phishing attempts in real time. Meta has also stated that its systems are now better at avoiding accidental disabling of accounts and that the appeals process has become faster with the help of AI-driven decision support.
Meta has also upgraded its account recovery experience. Users will now see clearer recovery options when something goes wrong, receive more accurate alerts about unusual activity and benefit from improved recognition of familiar devices and locations. Recovery steps now adjust to each of the users’ situations, and Meta has added an optional selfie video step to help confirm identity. Meta is also encouraging users to take a few steps to strengthen their account activity security. The updated Security Checkup tool on both Facebook and Instagram helps people spot and fix potential risks more quickly. Users can turn on two-factor authentication, which the company stated adds an extra layer of protection by requiring a password and code from their phone or an authenticator application. Meta has also come up with passkeys on Facebook and Messenger, enabling users to sign in with their fingerprint, face or device PIN for stronger, password-free security.
