New Delhi: Mahindra’s newest electric SUVs, the XEV 9e and BE 6, have made a grand entry into the Indian market. On the very first day of bookings, the two models together received 30,179 reservations, adding up to a booking value of ₹8,472 crore (based on ex-showroom prices).
Among the two, the XEV 9e turned out to be more popular, with 16,900 bookings, while the BE 6 wasn’t far behind at 13,279 units. Interestingly, most buyers, 73% of them, went for the top-end Pack 3 variant, which comes with a 79 kWh battery pack, showing that customers are keen on premium features and longer driving range.
Bookings for these SUVs opened on February 14 at 9 AM, and the huge response reminded many of Mahindra’s earlier successes with models like the Scorpio-N and Thar Roxx, both of which saw massive demand at launch.
Mahindra BE 6 & XEV 9e, price and details:
The BE 6 is priced between ₹18.90 lakh and ₹26.90 lakh, while the XEV 9e starts at ₹21.90 lakh and goes up to ₹30.50 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). These competitive prices put Mahindra’s EVs in direct competition with other electric SUVs in the market, offering a good mix of style, performance, and modern technology.
Who gets their car first?
To handle the high demand smoothly, Mahindra has planned a step-by-step delivery process. Customers who booked the Pack 3 variant will be the first to get their cars, with deliveries starting in mid-March.
Buyers of the Pack Three Select and Pack Two models can expect their cars in June and July, while those who chose Pack One Above and Pack One will have to wait until August 2025.
With such a strong start, Mahindra’s electric push is clearly off to a flying start. It will be interesting to see how these SUVs shape the future of EVs in India.
