New Delhi: Dolby Laboratories and LG Electronics have recently announced the LG Sound Suite, a modular home audio system built around the H7 soundbar, which becomes the first soundbar to support Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. The announcement was made on December 17, 2025, with the company positioning the system as a simplified approach to immersive home audio that reduces wiring issues that other soundbars have and the placement complexity. This launch also expands the Dolby Atmos FlexConnect beyond the standalone wireless speakers into the soundbars, enabling the TV to act as the central hub for audio calibration and system control.
The Dolby Atmos FlexConnect is especially designed to let users connect wireless speakers directly to a compatible TV and place them where they suit the room layout, rather than following fixed positions. The TV detects each speaker and automatically optimises audio output based on the location, distance, and acoustics. With the LG Sound Suite, FlexConnect supports the gradual system expansion. Users can now start with the basic setup and add more speakers or subwoofers over time, without changing the core configuration.
The LG Sound Suite also supports up to 27-speaker configurations, ranging from two-speaker setups to a complete 13.1.7 channel system. The lineup includes the H7 soundbar, M7 and M5 surround speakers, and the W7 subwoofer. When the H7 soundbar is used as the lead device, Dolby Atmos FlexConnect works with any TV. The feature is also available on select LG premium 4K TVs with Dolby Vision support, when paired with compatible LG wireless speakers and subwoofers. LG confirmed that Dolby Atmos FlexConnect will be supported across its latest premium TV lineup, with select 2025 models receiving the feature through a future software update. This enables existing LG TV users to enable FlexConnect without charging hardware, subject to model compatibility.
LG will publicly showcase the Sound Suite during the CES 2026, scheduled from January 6 to January 9. Dolby also highlighted the continued expansion of Dolby Atmos content across films, streaming platforms, music, sports broadcasts, and gaming. The companies stated that the Sound Suite is aimed at ensuring consistent playback across different room sizes and layouts, aligning home setups more closely with the creator’s intended audio mixes. With this latest launch, Dolby and LG are now focusing on flexibility, scalability, and reduced setup friction as key factors in the next phase of home audio adoption.
