New Delhi: Before, Chinese smartphone brands like LG, Sony, HTC, and Blackberry were the dominant players in the Indian market. However, several factors contributed to their decline, including a lack of brand differentiation, ineffective marketing strategies, poor decision-making, the emergence of robust Chinese competitors, and the failure to adapt to the evolving demands of the smartphone industry. If anyone is also using the LG smartphone, the users should be very careful because there is some unfortunate news. LG has now officially announced support for its smartphone. The company exited the smartphone market in 2021 but has promised its existing customers updates for eligible models over three years.
Now LG smartphones are shutting down, which means no longer be able to install any new Android OS updates. Further, users won’t be able to download pre-installed applications that were deleted during the initialization process. On LG’s official website, the company plans to shut down its smartphone update service in the next two months. As a result, users will lose access to the LG Electronics Mobile Phone software Upgrade, Update Centre, and LG Bridge services, all terminate on June 30 at midnight.
After this date, LG phones won’t be able to download or install any Android updates, and all software upgrade services, including those provided at service centres, will also be discontinued. Additionally, the users won’t have access to app-based update services. If any users have removed apps during initialization, they won’t be able to download them again.
LG device owners with pending updates should act quickly; without updates, LG handset users are likely to miss out on numerous new features as the latest Android version available to them is already three generations behind Android 15. The absence of security updates could also expose these devices to potential malware threats. And now the users want to be very careful while using their existing LG smartphone, and those Chinese Smartphone brands like HTC, Blackberry, have been discontinued earlier, but the Sony smartphone cameras are still in the race in the smartphone industry, but now LG has discontinued their smartphone industry next two months.
