New Delhi: Lenovo has recently introduced its latest portable Wi-Fi hotspot in China under its most popular Legion brand. Legion LM50S is a 4G LTE device which is priced at 59 yuan (roughly Rs 826.78). Along with the hardware, Lenovo is also bundling the device with 1,500GB of promotional data.
It operates on 4G LTE networks and caps out at download speeds of 150Mbps. However, the speed is standard for 4G and is sufficient for routine tasks like checking emails, streaming videos, attending online classes, and remote work, though it will not match the bandwidth of modern 5G alternatives.
Legion LM50S uses Wi-Fi 6; it also handles multiple connections more efficiently than older standards. However, the hotspot can support up to 10 devices at once. Lenovo also stated that the device includes high-frequency wall penetration technology to help maintain a steady signal between rooms in indoor environments.
Hotspot runs on a 28nm processor developed by ZTE, which is specially designed to keep power consumption low while maintaining network stability.
It is programmed to switch between the country’s three major telecom operators automatically. This device is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. The company stated this capacity offers up to 12 hours of use under normal conditions, and it is supported by built-in power-saving algorithms to reduce the idle drain.
