JioTag 2 launched with Android and iOS compatibility for cross-platform tracking

New Delhi: Reliance Jio has officially unveiled its JioTag 2 as a compact tracking solution which is specially designed to help the users to locate personal items such as keys, wallets, luggage, backpacks, and electronic gadgets as the successor to the first generation JioTag that was introduced back in 2023. This device functions as the multi-platform tracker, by offering native integration with major phone ecosystem to assist in finding misplaced or lost belongings.

JioTag 2 is its dual compatibility with both major mobile operating systems. This device can be synced by using simple steps to work natively with Apple Find My and Google Find Hub. This native integration enables users to manage the tracker directly via their phone’s existing location services without relying on a single-brand ecosystem. JioTag 2 incorporates some hardware and software capabilities intended to streamline asset tracking.

Audio Alerts

The tracker sports with built-in 120 dB loud buzzer. Users can trigger Play Sound command through their connected application to audibly locate items nearby.

Bluetooth Low Energy

The device also utilizes BLE connectivity for energy-efficient, fast and reliable communication with coupled smartphone within the immediate range.

Global Community Network

When an item is lost outside of normal Bluetooth range, the tracker utilizes community-based locating. It communicates securely with billions of surrounding Android and iOS devices on the Apple Find My and Google Find Hub networks to relay its remote location back to the owner.

No SIM Required

The operating entirely on beacoming protocols, the tracker does not require cellular SIM card or ongoing data recharge plans to function globally.

Battery and Durability

The device comes with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. It is powered by the replaceable battery offering up to 1-year lifespan, with an extra battery included in the box itself.

JioTag 2 is specially designed with lightweight, ultra-compact form factor by featuring built-in loop, by making it simple to attach to key ring, to secure onto bicycle, or slip inside the gym bag. When evaluated against traditional tracking hardware, JioTag 2 will occupies distinct middle ground between the standard Bluetooth tags and dedicated GPS trackers. JioTag 2 comes in Black, Green, and Red color options and it is priced at Rs 1,249.
