New Delhi: While Apple hasn’t officially announced any latest or upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series yet, several latest leaks have provided fans with a glimpse of what could be coming later this year. According to the latest updates, the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro Max could reveal significant advancements in battery capacity, performance, camera capabilities, and design elements, maintaining Apple’s desire for high quality.
The battery is one of the best features. Recent leaks indicate that the iPhone 18 Pro Max may be the biggest battery that Apple has ever used in an iPhone, approximately 5,500mAh. The bigger battery should provide longer screen time and longer battery life, making it a formidable upgrade for those who have extensive gaming, streaming, or work sessions. The larger battery, however, would likely add some weight to the Pro Max, as compared to past iterations.
This is expected to be a big boost to performance, too. It is suspected that Apple will be implementing its new, unifying, 2nm-manufactured A20 Pro processor in its new Mac Ads devices. The smaller chip might lead to more power-efficient operation and faster speeds. This could help enhance the overall performance, accelerate AI capabilities, and boost battery life as well. It is also reported that the phone could have Apple’s next-generation C2 modem, which is said to provide improved network performance and connectivity.
The camera system may be getting an additional significant improvement. Apple may be bringing in a variable aperture main camera, which can vary its lens aperture depending on light conditions, according to leaks. It might assist users in taking vivid shot lists in low light conditions and creating a more natural background defocus while shooting outside in the daylight. This would provide a photographer with some control but without a requirement for professional camera gear.
As for design, Apple will likely maintain a design reminiscent of the Switch’s current Pro models, though it’s predicted that it might announce the new Dark Cherry color that won’t feature a physical toggle or dial. The new finish is said to be a “rich blend of deep red and burgundy hues” for a new premium finish. There is also some speculation that the Dynamic Island will be made even smaller, thereby providing more screen real estate for the user.
All of these things have caused fan-doom to spread, but it is best to keep in mind that they are all leaks and/or industry reports and therefore may be incorrect. There are no official statements from Apple regarding any of these features. The company is expected to reveal the iPhone 18 Pro lineup at the launch event scheduled for September, finally releasing all the specifications, pricing, and availability details for the new phones. For now, those rumored features indicate that the next iteration of the iPhone 18 Pro may be one of Apple’s largest smartphones of the last few years.
