New Delhi: Apple’s iPhone 17 series is expected to launch in September 2025, and it looks like it’s going to be one of the biggest updates in years.
This time the lineup will include four models and the models are followed respectively iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max (or maybe called Ultra), each one will come with new designs, better hardware, and big improvements to the cameras.
Apple is bringing back aluminum frames for all iPhone 17 models, instead of the titanium used in recent Pro models. This change will make the phones lighter but still strong. The camera area on the back is also getting a new design, it’ll be bigger and made from aluminum instead of glass, which should make it more durable and give it a premium touch. The bottom half of the phone will still be glass to support wireless charging and keep that modern look.
Meet the Slim iPhone 17 Air
The iPhone 17 Air will stand out with its ultra-thin design. It’s expected to be only 5 to 6 millimeters thick, that’s super slim! It’ll have just one rear camera, likely a powerful 48MP sensor with some smart features like variable aperture to help with low-light photos. It’s all about making the phone light, simple, and easy to use, without losing performance.
For the first time, every iPhone 17 model will come with a smooth 120Hz ProMotion display. That means better scrolling and responsiveness, even on the regular versions. Apple is using top-notch LTPO OLED screens that can change their refresh rate from 120Hz all the way down to 1Hz, perfect for always-on displays and saving battery. These screens will also be brighter and more colorful, great for watching videos or gaming.
Screen sizes are getting an upgrade too:
- iPhone 17: 6.27 inches
- iPhone 17 Air: 6.6 inches (in a super slim body)
- iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max: even bigger, with the Pro Max going up to 6.9 inches, perfect for content and multitasking.
All iPhone 17 models will come with a much better front camera, now 24MP, which means sharper selfies and clearer video calls.
- The regular iPhone 17 will have two rear cameras (wide and ultra-wide).
- The Air will stick to one powerful 48MP camera to stay slim.
- The Pro models will have three 48MP rear cameras (wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto).
The Pro Max (or Ultra) might even get a special 48MP telephoto lens that works really well with Apple’s Vision Pro headset, and possibly a mechanical aperture for better control over lighting and depth in photos.
Faster, Smarter, and More Powerful
Inside, the new iPhones will run on Apple’s latest A19 and A19 Pro chips, made with advanced 3nm tech. This means better speed, battery life, and improved AI features.
- Standard models: 8GB RAM
- Pro models: 12GB RAM
- Storage: 128GB up to possibly 2TB for the Pro Max, great for people who store lots of photos, videos, or apps.
Battery life is also expected to be better, thanks to the bigger batteries and smarter power-saving features it has which act as a flagship feature for it the fast charging feature will work both wired and wirelessly across all of its models.
The Pro models will also support Wi-Fi 7 for faster internet and come with Bluetooth 5.3. All iPhone 17 models will be eSIM only, no physical SIM slot will be provided. Apple may also add a special anti-reflective, scratch-resistant layer to the screens for extra durability and protection.
