New Delhi: WhatsApp is going to roll out Apple’s Liquid Glass design language to iOS users, bringing a translucent, glass-like interface that marks the messaging application’s most significant visual overhaul in years. The redesign, which is going leverage iOS 26’s advanced graphics capabilities, is currently available to select users through the latest application update version 25.28.75. The newest interface features semi-translucent elements that are going to create depth and dimension across the applications. The bottom tab bar now appears to float above the content with the adaptive transparency that is going to adjust automatically between the light and dark modes.
According to some sources, the redesign also includes a revamped system keyboard with reflective properties and redesigned buttons throughout the application that are going to respond with fluid animations when tapped on. The Liquid Glass redesign represents WhatsApp’s adoption of Apple’s latest visual framework, which was introduced with iOS 26. The material uses real-time rendering and dynamic reactions to the movement, creating specular highlights that make interactions feel more responsive and immersive.
Context menus have also been updated with the translucent aesthetic while maintaining clarity for the selected options. The active tab indicator now dynamically adjusts its width to align precisely with the icons, ensuring visual clarity across different screen sizes. The redesigned elements work seamlessly across both light and dark themes, maintaining consistency with the iOS 26 overall design principles. The Liquid Glass interface is being deployed slowly across its massive global user base. Users haven’t received this update yet, they should expect to see it within the coming weeks, as WhatsApp typically takes a phased approach to significant interface changes.
