New Delhi: Apple has officially rolled out its iOS 26.3 update for the supported iPhone models by unveiling a range of latest features and refinements across the system applications and core experiences, along with the security patches. This latest update adds improvements to the wallpaper gallery, a tool for transitioning from an iPhone to an Android device, a notification forwarding feature on third-party accessories, and much more. Transfer from iPhone to Android
iOS 26.3 adds the latest support for a smoother iOS-to-Android switching experience. The feature lets users place their iPhone near an Android device to start the transfer. After the two devices are connected, users can select data such as photos, messages, notes, applications, passwords, contacts, and more to move access. Health information, Bluetooth-connected devices, and secure content such as locked notes are not carried over to the latest device.
New weather wallpapers
Apple has also upgraded the iPhone’s wallpaper gallery with a separate Weather section. Previously, they were combined under Weather and Astronomy, the two categories, but they now appear as individual rows. This latest update brings three new weather-themed wallpapers, each supporting live updates that mirror real-time conditions based on the user’s current location, alongside varied font styles and weather widgets.
Limit precise location
iPhone is powered by its in-house modem, such as the iPhone 16e and iPhone Air, which are getting the latest Limit precise location feature with the latest iOS 26.3. This latest option is especially designed to restrict the level of location data shared with the mobile carriers, enhancing user privacy. It will be available only on supported networks.
Proximity pairing
Apple has also added the latest feature, but there is a catch: it is only for Europe. Devices such as headphones and smartwatches can use some of the same functionality available to AirPods and the Apple Watch going forward. Proximity Pairing enables third-party devices to pair with an iOS device in the AirPods in a one-tap way, bringing an accessory close to an iPhone and iPad.
Security Updates
iOS 26.3 addresses dozens of security vulnerabilities, including the one that had been actively exploited. Apple has stated that a flaw in the dyld dynamic link editor could enable arbitrary code execution and might have been used in an extremely sophisticated attack on targeted individuals running versions before iOS 26. This latest update also patches issues in CoreAudio, Game Center, Messages, and Photos, which could have led to application crashes, exposure of sensitive information, sandbox bypass, or unauthorized access to photos from the Lock Screen.
