New Delhi: Instagram has officially released Replace Audio, its latest feature. It enables users to change the music on already published feed posts and carousel posts without deleting and re-uploading them. Earlier, the only way to change the soundtrack was to remove the post and publish it again, losing all engagement.
It works on existing feed posts and carousels. No need to delete or repost the content. Keeps existing likes, comments, shares, saves, and reach intact. Creators can replace audio multiple times if needed. Rolling out globally starting this week.
How it works: Open an existing Instagram feed post or carousel > Tap the Edit option > Select Replace Audio > Choose a new song from Instagram’s music library > Save your changes. This latest feature keeps all these metrics attached to the original post.
Creators can update older posts with trending Audio to better match current content trends without creating duplicate posts. Sometimes licensed songs become unavailable or muted. Users can now swap those tracks without losing their engagement on the content.
Brands and businesses can refresh professional posts with the latest campaign music rather than rebuilding the entire post. Instagram stated that replacing the Audio does not provide any algorithmic ranking boost. This feature is intended to make content easier to maintain, not to increase the reach of the content artificially.
This latest audio replacement feature joins some recent upgrades that let creators modify the content after publishing. This feature is rolling out globally beginning this week, so it might not appear for every account immediately. However, users should ensure they have the latest version of Instagram installed on their devices.
